What is the best kind of knee pads to use for speed skating?

This is for short course, inline speed skating.

Obviously barry has never seen a inline speed skater.

I don't know of any serious speed skater that wears knee or elbow pads. If they wern't forced to by the events, most of them wouldn't wear wrist guards or helmets.

Look for the lightest, most flexible, knee pads you can find.

A lot of the racers use the CDS Detroit gloves or an equivalent (www.cdsdetroit.com/products-page/produc...

A neoprene knee support should work as a pad. Unfortunately, Powerslide's kevlar leg warmer never made it to the US market or I would be wearing them.

The fast (but not really racers) people who wear knee pads really liked the light weight Salomon series.
