and not with the break thingy in the back but some other way.
and also does the hockey stop thing ruin your wheels?
How to stop on inline skates??
if youre not an experience skater a sharp turn will only end in you falling and most likely hurting yourself. The hockey stop will probably damage your wheels depending on what type of surface you are on if you are in a roller rink on a nice smooth floor it would work fine and the way to do it is make a quick cut either left or right with majority of your weight on your back foot and pushing out with your front foot. Another simpler way to stop would be to just drag your foot behind you with all four wheels going horizontally across.
P.S. don't try the hockey stop on concrete you will most likely just flip over and land on your side.
Reply:The first thing I have to say is, don't be afraid. Your going to hurt yourself, if your low to the ground.
*Stay low
*swing your right foot in front while shifting sideways.
*Put all your wieght on your stopping foot.
*If you do it right then you should here a huge honking noise.
Reply:you can either use the break in the back or bring your skates out then in real close like a half circle then your skates should almost touch to slow down
Reply:I just drag the toe of my right skate to slow down gradually. If you put more pressure on it you can stop faster. When I get going real fast and need to stop fast, I just do an ice hockey stop, but I usually wipe out 9 out of 10 times. The best thing to do is drag your toe or just make a U-turn.
Reply:The easiest way to stop is drag your back foot. Feel which foot is more comfortable to drag and go for it. Keep one foot straight as if you are normaly gliding and then turn the other foot sideways (toe facing away from your other foot) and drag it slightly behind your other foot.
Reply:turn and put all your weight down on your feet
Reply:You have to turn hard and sharp angle. It is really hard to do at first. My Roller Hockey coach knows how to do it. It ruin your wheels over time
Reply:Personally, I don't recommend it unless you're on a surface designed for inline skates. As someone said, if you do that on regular, cement streets, you'll ruin the wheels and you may even break your ankle. There's just no give there.
Reply:Sharp turn
dog skin problem
